1968 election chalkboard

Slate chalkboard used to monitor election returns from the presidential election held on November 5, 1968.   The left-most column lists each of the 50 states and Washington, D.C. The top row lists the candidates:  ”HHH” (Hubert H. Humphrey); “DICK” (Richard Nixon); and “GW” (George Wallace).  The returns listed are not the final election results.

Democratic donkey cuff links

Cuff links worn by Vice President Hubert H. Humphrey during the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago.  The cuff links are of sterling silver and are die-cut with the outline of the Democratic Party’s donkey mascot.

Hubert H. Humphrey lunch box

Lunch box created to demonstrate support for Hubert H. Humphrey’s 1968 presidential campaign.  The metal box has green velvet applique on its base, handle and interior.  Paper cut-outs, newsprint images of the candidate, and a color poster of Muriel Humphrey are affixed to its sides.
