Lacrosse Stick

One of two lacrosse sticks used by John Brown Stark, which were the first sticks used in Saint Paul. Lacrosse is a game of ball that originated among the North American Indians and is played with a long-handled rocket (crosse) with which the hard ball is caught, carried or thrown. Dated to the early to mid-20th century.

BWCA Canoe

Monday, May 30th, 2016

A 17 foot fiberglass canoe made by Dagger which is covered with thousands of signatures of Minnesota citizens in black marker. It was signed in July 1996 and transported to Washington, DC to protest proposed legislation to increase use of motor vehicles on portages in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and Voyageurs National Park.

Ford Plant Tile

A terracotta edge roof tile taken from the Ford Twin Cities Assembly Plant. The plant, which built the Ford Ranger, Ford Model T, Galaxie, and LTD, closed in 2011 and has been demolished.

25th Division Insignia

A United States Army 25th Division shoulder patch insignia, circa 1950. The device consists of a red taro leaf bordered in gold, against which is set a gold lightning bolt. The division is based in Hawaii.

Twined Bag

A twined woven bag with multi-colored stripes of red, yellow, blue and black, and lined with batik cotton. It features a warp of torn fabric strips and bast fiber that create a fringe, an interior pocket and woven straps. Made by Somali elder weaver, Holden in 2007.
