Surly Bill

Filed under: Item of the Day — Jason Onerheim @ 12:01 am

A pint glass produced by Surly Brewing Company of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota (now located in Minneapolis), following the passage of the “Surly Bill” in 2011. This law allows breweries to apply for a license to distribute their beer for retail sale and sell on the brewery’s premises. The front has an opaque white printed image of the State Capitol building behind a hand holding a Surly pint glass encircled by text that reads “POWER OF THE PINT / With your help, we changed the law”.

For more information or to purchase a photograph of this item, view this glass in our collections database.
