Dakota Bag

Filed under: Item of the Day — Jason Onerheim @ 12:01 am

A Dakota/Lakota carrying or storage bag made of tanned leather, circa 1900. A beadwork panel on the front of the bag features geometric designs in shades of yellow, blue, green and red on a white background. Similar panels decorate the sides and top flap of the bag, as do pairs of tinkler cones terminating in tufts of dyed-red horsehair.
