Star Quilt

A star pattern cotton pieced quilt. Large central eight-pointed star made of diamond shaped cotton prints. Pieced eight-pointed stars in the spaces around the central star. Inner border of diamonds with stars at the corners. Middle border of eight-pointed stars. Chintz outer border with edge folded over to back. Hand pieced and hand quilted. Elaborately quilted flower motifs, parallel lines and outline quilting. Made in the 1840s.

Sawed Off Shotgun

Parker VH grade sawed off shotgun. This double trigger, double barreled, side by side 20 gauge shotgun is made of engraved”Vulcan” fluid steel and has checkered walnut stocks. The barrels and forestock have been sawed off at 9.6 inches; the shoulder stock has been cut to leave only a pistol grip, which is wrapped in black electrical tape. Confiscated by the Minneapolis Police Department in 1992.

Tiffany Lamp

A Tiffany Studios “The Twilight” kerosene lamp consisting of (.A) decagonal base of mold blown favrile glass with Tiffany sticker and “2393″ etched into the base, (.B) a cylindrical insert of pearlescent glass and gold-colored kerosene apparatus at top, ‘TIFFANY’ on wick adjustment knob and ‘THE TWILIGHT/PAT MAY 22. 1894′ on shade frame, (.C) a small chimney of amber favrile glass, and (.D) a crenellated glass shade with “2638″ scratched vertically onto the lip. Circa 1894.

Compass

A compass carried by William R. Marshall of the 7th Minnesota Volunteer Infantry Regiment during the U.S.-Dakota War of 1862 and the Civil War. Marshall would later be elected Governor of Minnesota.

Dakota Bag

A Dakota/Lakota carrying or storage bag made of tanned leather, circa 1900. A beadwork panel on the front of the bag features geometric designs in shades of yellow, blue, green and red on a white background. Similar panels decorate the sides and top flap of the bag, as do pairs of tinkler cones terminating in tufts of dyed-red horsehair.
