Cloudy and cool. Drilled a little. Finished my monthly Returns of C.C. & G.E. & sent it to L.M. Gen. Thro C.Z.M. Dept Gen. All the Co. Commanders went with the Col. Down to the [“Ad…”] & selected a place for your Cos. RICHMOND TAKEN! The Glorious news of the Fall of Richmond & Petersburg officially announced. Had dress parade.
