Confederate Cavalry Saber – April 9, 1865

Confederate States Cavalry saber captured during the Civil War by Private George W. Buswell of the 7th Minnesota Regiment, Company B, at Fort Blakely, Alabama, on April 9, 1865.  The saber has a curved, single-edged blade and a half-basket type brass hilt with oilcloth wrapped wooden grips bound with steel wire.
