Sarah Jane Sibley doll

Doll modeled after Sarah Jane Sibley, wife of Minnesota governor Henry Sibley.  The doll wears a miniature version of the gown Mrs. Sibley wore to her husband’s 1858 gubernatorial  inauguration ceremony.  It was displayed in the River Room of the St. Paul location of Dayton’s department store along with dolls representing governors’ wives Amelia Hubbard, Anna Ramsey, Mahala Pillsbury and Mary Austin.  Created by Tommy Roland of New York, circa 1960.
