Handmade washing machine

Handmade wooden washing machine. Made in 1904 by a St. Paul building contractor and Czech immigrant. The machine is made from a wooden box with a corrugated wooden interior, a hinged metal lid on top, a small metal handle on the front and back, and a large metal handle on either side. The four legs are on swivels so the entire box can be rocked back and forth.

For more details, view the machine in our online catalog.
